He was also appointed as Worli-Shivadi assembly coordinator. Sena secretary Sanjay More and former senior corporator Ram Repale, among other high-ranking office bearers in the party, were present on this occasion. Ambole, who joined the BJP after leaving the Sena, contested in the Assembly election in 2024 as an independent candidate but lost.
BMC invokes Disaster Management Act: On the fourth day of the indefinite strike by the Mumbai Water Tanker Association (MWTA), the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday invoked the Disaster Management Act for requisitioning all water tankers, wells, and ponds in Mumbai. On April 10, MWTA went on an indefinite strike — sparking acute water shortages — in response to a notification by the civic body to owners and operators of borewells and ring-wells in Mumbai asking them to either shut those facilities or obtain a licence from the Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA).
Upper-floor tenements included in DRP: The Maharashtra government has begun including upper-floor tenement residents – who have traditionally been considered ineligible for rehablitation under the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) guidelines – in the Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP), providing them with an opportunity for homeownership. A government resolution (GR) passed on October 4, 2024, brought upper-floor residents in Dharavi within the ambit of rehabilitation. These occupants are eligible for 300 sq ft houses outside Dharavi but within MMR.
