Hockey sides ready for NZ tour

The Fiji Hockey Federation has named its men’s and women’s teams for the 2025 Axellerate Fiji Heritage squads set to compete at the prestigious NZ Heritage Hockey Tournament in Auckland.

The event will be hosted at the National Hockey Centre in North Harbour over the Easter weekend from April 18-21.

Fiji’s men’s and women’s teams head into the tournament with momentum, having won both the Pacific Cup and the Intercontinental Cup during the Oceania Pacific Cup in December 2024.

Star players named in the squads include Lala Ravatu, Diyankar Kumar, Akosita Adigoneca, Zander Frazzer and Kirk Corrie, all seasoned campaigners expected to bring flair and strength to the field.

The tournament will not only test Fiji’s depth and talent, but also provide a platform to celebrate identity and unity through sport.

With high expectations following their recent regional success, the Fiji Heritage Hockey teams are poised to make a statement in Auckland, both on and off the pitch.

The tournament promises to be more than just a sporting spectacle, it’s a chance for players to showcase the vibrancy of their culture, stories and shared Pacific heritage.

Women’s hockey team includes Abbi Stewart, Akosita Adigoneca, Ateca Fatufago, Becky Kelly (GK), Catherine Fabiano, Dakota Corringham, Divyankar Kumar, Elita Burusova (GK), Kayli Tuiraviravi, Lala Ravatu, Lijiana Vuetanavanua, Litea Masi, Lora Bulakidi, Louise Bereso, Marijke Mcgoon, Melba Nautu, Nadja Mcgoon, Ruth King, Tailah Ah Tuk and Tessa Heritage.

The men’s hockey team compromises of Aiden Fraser, Alsace Smith, Chad Eastgate, Dale Hohansen, Darren Sawaki (GK), George Ravatu, Gus Shaw, Jacob Soo Choon, Kirk Corrie (GK), Nishil Patel, Peter Felstead, Rocco Ludolph, Rupeni Fabiano, Scott Bentley, Stephen Wise, Terence Corrie, Tristan Tora, Zac Buinimasi and Zander Fraser.
