According to a new study by Reboot Online which analysed online searches to reveal the most in-demand European beach destinations for summer 2025, the stunning Portuguese island of Madeira has been ranked the most in-demand beach destination in Europe, scoring an almost flawless 9.4/10 on the ultimate holiday scale.

With its golden beaches, dramatic cliffs, and year-round sunshine, it’s no surprise that Madeira is capturing the hearts (and travel searches) of travellers worldwide. The island has racked up an incredible 1.32 million average monthly searches which is more than any other destination in the study, making it the hottest summer getaway for next year. Best of all, a seven-night stay in paradise comes at the attractive price of around £534 per person.

This Atlantic jewel is more than just a beach destination, it has options for every kind of traveller. From the breathtaking natural pools of Porto Moniz to the golden sands of Porto Santo, Madeira offers stunning coastlines, world-class hiking trails, and vibrant local culture.

How Does Madeira Compare?

Italy’s Sorrento takes second place with an ultimate holiday score of 9.3/10 and 349,300 searches per month, but a trip there will cost you slightly more at £591 for a week-long stay. In third place is Taormina, Sicily, which has grown in popularity thanks to The White Lotus TV series, attracting 273,000 searches per month but visitors will need to shell out around £709 for a seven-night holiday.

In fourth place is Palma, Mallorca, securing an average of 295,000 monthly online searches and in terms of holidaying there for seven nights, you would need to pay around £477.

Finally, Portugal’s Cascais rounds out the top five, proving that Europe is packed with incredible summer escapes. But while Cascais offers another Portuguese paradise, accumulating 188,800 monthly searches on average, it comes at a higher cost of £656, making Madeira the best-value destination on the list!
