X-Men actress Olivia Munn has laid into Katy Perry for taking a ‘pointless’ and ‘gluttonous’ trip to space in Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket voyage.
The US star, 44, was co-hosting us TV show TODAY With Jenna and Friends when she let rip on the Firework hitmaker, 40.
‘I know this probably isn’t the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now,’ Munn said, wondering what could be achieved from the 11-minute flight.
‘What are you guys gonna do up in space? What are you doing up there?’ she asked. ‘If you wanna go to space, why do you need to tell us about it, you know? It’s just like, go up there, have a good time, come on down.’

‘I know this is probably obnoxious, but like, it’s so much money to go to space, and there’s a lot of people who can’t even afford eggs,’ she added,
‘What’s the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride?’ Munn asked, adding, ‘I think it’s a bit gluttonous.’
Blue Origin has flown tourists on short hops to space since 2021.
Why is Katy Perry going to space?
‘If you had told me that I would be part of the first ever all-female crew in space, I would have believed you,’ Katy said when the news was announced.
‘Nothing was beyond my imagination as a child. Although we didn’t grow up with much, I never stopped looking at the world with hopeful WONDER!
‘I work hard to live my life that way still, and I am motivated more than ever to be an example for my daughter that women should take up space (pun intended).
‘That’s why this opportunity is so incredible — so that I can show all of the youngest & most vulnerable among us to reach for the stars, literally and figuratively. I am honored to be among this diverse group of celestial sisters.’
In February Katy shocked fans by announcing she would become the first popstar ever to go to space, with many questioning whether April Fools Day had come early.
Some criticised her for cosying up to Bezos for the mission on her comments session, with Renée Duncan writing: ‘Read the room, Katy! First you endorse former GOP billionaire Rick Caruso for LA mayor, then you chose to work again with Dr. Luke, and now you’re partnering with oligarch Bezos to go to space.’
The NS-31 mission is set to launch from West Texas high desert on April 14 at 8.30am. It will travel about 65 miles above earth, and once up the women will be able to float around the rocket for several minutes.

Joining Katy on board will be CBS Mornings host Gayle King, and the Amazon boss’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez, who brought the mission together.
They will also be joined by aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and producer Kerianne Flynn.

Amanda previously revealed the women are all going to go to space looking glamorous.
‘I think it’s so important for people to see us like that. This dichotomy of engineer and scientist, and then beauty and fashion. We contain multitudes. Women are multitudes,’ she told ELLE. ‘I’m going to be wearing lipstick.’
The out of this world voyage will be the 11th human flight for the New Shepard program, and the 31st in its history. They will spend just
