NOW WE HAVE A NEW STORM WORKING IN FROM THE PACIFIC AND THE ROCKIES. THAT’S GOING TO BRING US BIG CHANGES. WE’RE ALREADY SEEING THE RAIN IN ROSWELL. FINALLY GETTING SOME RAIN IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO, BREAKING A REALLY LONG DRY STRETCH FOR THEM. YOU SEE SOME LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS IN ROSWELL, ACME, DEXTER EXTENDING UP TOWARD THE CLOVIS AREA. RIGHT NOW THIS IS VERY LIGHT ACTIVITY, BUT HEY, WE’LL TAKE ALL THE MOISTURE WE CAN GET. THEY PICKED UP OVER A THIRD OF AN INCH OF RAINFALL IN ROSWELL SO FAR ALONG THE STATIONARY FRONT. CLOVIS, YOU’VE SEEN OVER AN INCH OF RAINFALL. THE COLD SIDE OF THE SYSTEM IS ABOUT TO DIG INTO NEW MEXICO, AND THAT’S GOING TO BRING THAT WINTER WEATHER. SO WE DO HAVE A WINTER STORM WARNING IN PINK FOR THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS OF NEW MEXICO INTO RATON, LAS VEGAS, I-40, SANTA ROSA TO TUCUMCARI. 4 TO 10IN OF SNOWFALL, BLOWING SNOW, BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE AS WELL. HERE IN ALBUQUERQUE WE HAVE A WIND ADVISORY FOR STRONG CANYON WINDS THAT WILL DEVELOP FOR TONIGHT. AND LOOK AT THESE WINDS THAT ARE RAMP UP, ESPECIALLY AFTER MIDNIGHT TOWARD TOMORROW MORNING. SUSTAINED 30 PLUS GUSTS TO 55MPH. SO ENJOY THE QUIET THAT WE HAVE IN ALBUQUERQUE RIGHT NOW WITH THOSE WINDS AT FIVE MILES PER HOUR TO THE WEST SOUTHWEST, 52 DEGREES. COOL. DA. YOU DEFINITELY NEED A JACKET 40S FOR GALLUP GRANTS AND ALSO INTO THE SANTA FE AREA RIGHT NOW, 30S UP AROUND LAS VEGAS. YOU SEE THOSE BREEZES FAIRLY LIGHT ACROSS NEW MEXICO RIGHT NOW, BUT THAT’S GOING TO BE CHANGING. HERE’S OUR STORM THAT IS DIGGING FROM THE ROCKIES. IT’S GOING TO CUT ACROSS NEW MEXICO AND THE SOUTHWEST AS WE GO INTO TOMORROW, BRINGING THAT WINTER LIKE WEATHER, SNOW, BLOWING SNOW TO NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO. AND THOSE GUSTY WINDS HERE IN ALBUQUERQUE. WE COULD SEE A SPOT SHOWER DEVELOP LATER TODAY. I THINK INCREASING CHANCES OF SHOWERS AS WE GO THROUGH THE EVENING. YOU’LL SEE THOSE SHOWERS FOCUSED OVER EASTERN NEW MEXICO. THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE IN THE EASTERN PART OF THE STATE AS WELL. LOOK AT THE BLUE AND NORTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO. THIS IS THE SNOW. WATCH IT EXPAND AS WE GO FROM MIDNIGHT INTO TOMORROW MORNING. YEAH, EVEN DOWN TOWARD ROSWELL. RUIDOSO, CLOVIS, SANTA ROSA. SEEING THAT SNOW OR A MIX OF SNOW INTO THE FAR SOUTHEAST. AND THAT COULD BE THUNDER. SNOW AT TIMES WITH SOME VERY HEAVY SNOWFALL RATES. SO WE’RE LOOKING AT THE BLOWING SNOW RISK WITH BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ACROSS EAST NEW MEXICO FOR TOMORROW. AVOID TRAVEL THERE. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL FOR THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS INTO THE NORTHEASTERN PART OF THE STATE, WHERE YOU COULD SEE SEVERAL INCHES, IF NOT A FOOT OF SNOW. FOR THE MOUNTAINS HERE IN ALBUQUERQUE, WE’VE GOT THE SNOW HOLE WITH THOSE STRONG CANYON WINDS, SO NOT MUCH SNOW IN THE METRO, MORE CHANCES OF SNOW FOR THE FOOTHILLS AND WEST MESA.
