King Frederik and Queen Mary's eldest daughter turns 18 on April 21, and the milestone occasion will be celebrated in the cities of Aarhus and Copenhagen before her big day. According to a budget from the city of Aarhus, about $42,800 has been allocated for their leg of the celebrations.

Aarhus' birthday event for Princess Isabella will take place on Friday, April 11, and is being organized as a tribute to the city's young talent in music, sport, cuisine and design. A breakdown shows that the city will spend about $13,735 on actors, $9,300 on catering and drinks for 300 guests, almost $3,700 for kitchen service and staff, $3,320 for sound crews and $1,475 for flowers.

Another item line shows that $1,475 has also been budgeted for a gift, the details of which seem to be a secret!

A previous statement from the Danish Royal House said that the celebration at Aarhus City Hall would feature a sustainable fashion show, musical entertainment, dance performance and presentation of a birthday cake by students from a vocational education program. Around 100 of the select guests will be young people from local youth organizations and educational groups, plus another 50 youth from Aarhus invited via lottery.

That's not the only plan on the royal calendar, however, as the festivities will continue in Isabella's honor the following week.

On Tuesday, April 15, Princess Isabella and the royal family will attend a birthday performance at The Old Stage of The Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. The audience will be filled with over 1,000 young people between ages 17 and 24 from across Denmark and its territories of the Faroe Islands and Greenland, who won tickets via lottery.

The exciting night will be broadcast by the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, meaning that viewers can tune in from home.

Princess Isabella will celebrate her actual birthday on April 21, meaning that she shares a birthday with the late Queen Elizabeth. The Danish Royal House released a new portrait of the princess taken by photographer Steen Evald in Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg, which is the Danish royal family's private residence, when the plans for her birthday bash were unveiled.

Princess Isabella is second in the line of succession to the Danish throne, behind her elder brother Crown Prince Christian, 19, and ahead of her younger siblings, twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 14.

The party at the Christiansborg Palace was attended by members of the Belgian, Norwegian, Swedish and Dutch royal families, including Princess Elisabeth, 23, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, 21, Princess Estelle, 13, and Princess Catharaina-Amalia, 21, who, like Christian, are all heirs.
