Dominican Republic to host International Education Faculties Meeting in Punta Cana

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic is set to host the III International Meeting of Faculties of Education (EIFE) from April 9th to 12th in Punta Cana. Alberto Ramírez, National Rector of the Universidad Federico Henríquez y Carvajal (Ufhec), announced that the event will focus on the theme of “Quality and Educational Research in Higher Education.”
Ufhec and the Instituto Superior de Formación Docente Salomé Ureña (Isfodosu) will co-host the third edition of the meeting. They are also part of the organizing team, which includes the Faculty of Educational and Sports Sciences of Melilla from the University of Granada and the international project Ecalfor (Evaluation of Teacher Training in Latin America and the Caribbean, Guarantee of the Quality of Education Degrees).
According to Rector Ramírez, the event aims to “promote studies and projects that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the educational field, as well as encourage the dissemination of research, facilitate collaboration and academic exchange, and improve the administration and organization of faculties to optimize their operation.”
Ramírez emphasized the event’s role in fostering educational leadership by pursuing innovative and effective teaching strategies, enhancing educational quality, and improving the coordination of student internships to ensure integrity and quality in training.
Dr. Darwin Muñoz, Vice-Rector of Science, Technology and Innovation at Ufhec, will deliver a conference on “Quality Assurance Systems” of universities participating in the Ecalfor Project as a model for institutionalizing the support of curricular changes.
Notably, this year’s III International Meeting of Faculties of Education will coincide with the 5th Caribbean Congress of Educational Research, which is organized annually by the Instituto Superior de Formación Docente Salomé Ureña (Isfodosu).
