Victor Ikpeba has heaped plaudits on Victor Osimhen and head coach Eric Chelle for the Super Eagles spirited display in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Amavubi of Rwanda and Warriors of Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles recorded a 2-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali ,while they were held to a 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe in Uyo.
Osimhen bagged a brace against the Amavubi, and scored Nigeria’s only goal against Zimbabwe.
“I loved the commitment and attitude of Osimhen, he gave everything and scored three goals,” Ikpeba saluted on SuperSport TV programme Monday Night Football.

“There was nothing wrong with him walking out angrily after the Zimbabwe match. Such things happen.”
Ikpeba also commended Chelle for infusing a new fighting spirit in the Super Eagles.
“Had we appointed him earlier, we would have been in a better position on the table,” he said.
“Against Zimbabwe, we did enough to win the game, but we did not take our chances.
“We still have a chance to qualify for the World Cup, it’s for the boys to regroup in September and go for it again.”

So these two don settle dia beef? Ikpeba is no longer a PUNDIT ISONU. That’s good.
Osimhen is doing his best, but he can’t do it all by himself. Na em go attack, na em go defend from the front, na em dey ginger the rest of the players. If Osimhen no dey field, we’re in trouble. If he no score, goals will not come from anywhere, except perhaps Lookman. This is not good enough. He needs help. The team needs to do better, be better.
Each time osimhen plays he plays with passion and with all his mind the coach should instill more discipline in the super eagles
This Ikpeba has no shame.. isn’t he one of the people who appointed Finidi? Shut up there. Na Osihmen go do everything? Even this Chelle isn’t a world class coach.
Lookman or Dele Bashiru
Rohr hands in his resignation after he was summoned by the Benin FA over poor results in the last 2 matches of the WCQ lol…. Only 2 years in Benin and he is already forced to resign but some folks here will think he was the Nigerian Messiah lol.
Normally Benin wouldn’t be bothered losing games against South Africa even at home or getting a draw against Zimbabwe away which i think is a great result considering their pedigree..
However, expectations are high because of the height Rohr has taken them since his emergence as manager of the team..
Apparently,Benin are beginning to see their team as heavyweight which shouldn’t draw against Zimbabwe..
Sadly,it won’t take long for them to realise the void Rohr has left when it goes back to factory settings!
We couldn’t qualify for Ordinary afcon back to back before he came. We cannot qualify for the world cup back to back since he left…..LMAOoo, please tell us what your definition of a messiah…….LMAOoo
If he’s leaving Benin after just 2 years, is he leaving them in a better place than he met them or not….?!
The last time we checked, your Almighty SE could only get 4pts out of 9 from his minnows.
