Pitt's Khadija Faye declares for 2025 WNBA Draft
Pitt women’s player Khadija Faye, who averaged a double-double and was named All-ACC first team this season after transferring from Texas, announced Thursday night her intention to enter the 2025 WNBA Draft.
The draft is scheduled for April 14.
Faye, who played only one season at Pitt as a graduate student, is the school’s third women’s player named first-team All-ACC, joining Liatu King (2024) and Brianna Kiesesl (2015).
A native of Dakar, Senegal, Faye led the ACC in double-doubles (16) and is the first ACC player since Georgia Tech’s Dolores Bootz in 1987-1988 to average at least 19 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game. She also scored more than 20 points in 17 games, including seven in a row to end the regular season.
“Thank you to the University of Pittsburgh with all my heart,” Faye said in a statement released by the university. “I came to this wonderful city not knowing what to expect. Little did I know, the amazing people, staff, teammates and friends I would be surrounded with.
“The journey has been remarkable and full of achievements. I have cherished every step of this journey. I will forever be grateful to Chancellor Joan Gabel, Director of Athletics Allen Greene, coach Tory Verdi and staff, as well as the entire athletics support team. I am excited for the next chapter.”
